On 4th July begins the 9th Edition of the “Sala Montjuïc”, an Open-Air Film Festival that takes place at the Montjuïc’s Castle. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, there will be 2 projections and a concert. It is the perfect place to have a picnic and enjoy the summer nights with family and friends.
How to get to the Castle?
– By car, motorbike, Montjuïc “teleférico” or by bike.
– TMB buses from the Towers on Plaza Espanya as from 8.30 pm (free with the TMB integrated tariff). Buses go back down once the film is finished.
You can buy your tickets in advance for 5 Euros on the website www.servicaixa.com.
Once you are on the spot, you can rent a deck chair for 3 Euros.
The festival starts with a Spanish movie called “The Spy” but there are also American movies such as “Inglorious Basterds” and “Where the wild things are”. You can also watch French Cinema with the classical of the New Wave called “Breathless” by Godard. If you are not keen on good old black and white movies, the movie rewarded at Cannes in 2009, “the Prophet” will bring you back to the reality of our time. You can already vote for the movie you want to watch for the last night of the event. You have the choice between “Inception” starring Leonardo Dicaprio, “Batman, the Dark knight” and “Insomnia”.
