You can discover Barcelona in many different ways: by taxi, by metro or by autobus. All kinds of transport have their pros and cons. The taxi for example is really comfortable, but it can happen that you get stuck in the rush hour. Maybe this won’t happen if you go by bus, because of the bus lanes, but you are dependent on the arrivals and departures and the buses can be very crowded. None of these problems matters if you take the metro, but there is one big disadvantage: you are in the underground and you don’t see anything of our beautiful city while you are travelling from one place to another.
That is why today, we want to inform you about a new way of travelling through Barcelona: by bike. Barcelona is perfect for cycling if you want to go from one place to another. You can do it without any problems, thanks to the cycleways that are arising more and more all over the city.
Depending on how much time you would like to spend, you have different possibilities to plan a route. I would suggest a route, from which you can see a lot of interesting sights. You start at Plaça Catalunya and go down las Ramblas, up to the Christopher Columbus column. Then all the way down the esplanade until you reach the beaches of Barceloneta. Here you can drive all the time along the beache until you arrive at the Olympic Port. From here, Parc de la Ciutadella is only a stone’s throw away and you are also very close to the Arc de Triomf. After you have visited the park and if you have still some energy and time, you could visit the Sagrada Familia or go back to Plaça Catalunya. You will have seen a lot from Barcelona at the end of the day!
