One of the oldest and biggest flea markets is Els Encants, located at Plaça de les Glories Catalanes. It is being transformed completely and will take place in a multi-level covered place starting in June. This market started its history in the 14th century, and currently there are more than 500 merchandisers. It takes place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8.30 am until 3 pm. Mercat Gòtic is a small outdoor flea market in the Gothic district, which takes place every Thursday in front of the Cathedral. Their aim is to make antiquities and collector items available to the large public. More information on their website.
Another very central flea market takes place at the end of the Ramblas, beneath the statue of Colombus. The Fira de Brocanters Antique is held every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 8 pm.
