Last Thursday, the 5th edition of Pride Barcelona kicked off! Spain is one of the most progressive countries regarding homosexuality and LGBT tolerance, having legal homosexual marriage. Barcelona is becoming more and more important for the LGBT community, after Madrid and Maspalomas.
30 associations, the entire LGBT community and many volunteers make this event possible. Many parties and conferences are taking place during this period, but the main events will take place during the weekend from Friday June 28th until Sunday June 30th.
Some of the activities are the Heel Race and the Foam Party on Friday 28th of June and the famous Pride Parade on Saturday 29th of June. There are also special activities for kids to explain them the sexual diversity that exists and just to let them have fun with workshops, foam parties and water battles. On Sunday 30th of June, “Tibidabo goes gay for the day” and you can get in for a very special price to enjoy the festive LGTB atmosphere.
The main venues for Pride Barcelona ’13 are “The Village” and “The Avenue”, located on Avenida Maria Cristina, which is reachable from Plaça Espanya. To discover the whole program of Pride Barcelona ’13, visit the website.
