Ruta del Modernismo offers you a cultural summer

What is more typical of Barcelona than modernism? Gaudí is the best-known modernist architect, but there are many more modernist things to discover in Barcelona! Thanks to the “Ruta del Modernismo”, you can discover them all. And there is more: this summer, they offer you a 50% discount on 17 masterpieces of the modernist art movement!

Let’s start with Gaudí’s work. Casa Battló, La Pedrera, Pabellones Güell and Gaudí Experience participate in this action. This last one is an interactive museum, situated close to the main entrance of Park Güell. You can see mock-ups of Gaudí’s buildings, touch interactive walls and see a 4D-movie to really enter Gaudí’s imagination.

Another must-do is the Palau de la Música, conceived by the modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The concert hall is spectacular with the bell-shaped colored glass on the ceiling. Another building of Lluís Domènech i Montaner is the Hospital de Sant Pau, an enormous hospital in modernist style. Further, you can visit the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, where you can admire the work of the artist Antoni Tàpies and the Hotel España, both works of this architect.

And let’s end with the museums! There are many museums and you should not miss visiting at least some of them. CosmoCaixa is an interactive science museum where young and old can learn. The Museum of Catalan Modernism and the National Museum of Catalan Art are on the list as well. Finally, the action offers you a 50% discount on a walk on the top of the highest mountain in Barcelona: Tibidabo. The ‘Camí del Cel’ offers you spectacular views over Barcelona and access to the most emblematic attractions of this century old attraction park.
