If you want to escape the busy city centre filled with tourists, it is time to discover one of Barcelona’s hidden spots: Parc del Laberint d’Horta, the oldest gardens in Barcelona.
In 1871, the family Desvalls created this park, which includes a palace and an antique tower. There are two parts in the garden: the neoclassical garden of the 18th century and the romantic garden created in the 19th century.
Right at the entrance, you will find the Labyrinth that will lead you to the heart of the labyrinth, where a statue of Eros is waiting for you – if you find your way. No matter if you are alone, with your love or with kids, it is always wonderful to get lost in these green corridors.
When you get out the labyrinth, you can go up the terrace, from where you can look over the labyrinth. There is a pavilion with columns and statues. You will also find a pond with water coming from a natural source.
Furthermore, you can enjoy colourful flowerbeds in the romantic part of these gardens, as well as a waterfall. The entrance costs €2.23, but it is certainly worth it!
You can reach the Parc del Laberint d’Horta by taking the green line L3 of the metro until the metro station “Montbau”. Can you find your way without getting lost? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest via the hashtag #aptb4s!
