- The Architecture
Barcelona is the capital of Modernism where you can enjoy monuments built and designed by the famous Antoni Gaudi. The well known are the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, La Pedrera, or even the Park Guell.
- Barcelona’s Beaches
As Barcelona is located on the coast, you can enjoy kilometers of beach. During the summer Barcelona’s beaches are full of people. The advice I can give you is to take the Renfe train for 20 minutes to the North of Barcelona (towards Castelldefels or Sitges) or to the South (towards Ocata, Mataro). There, beaches are quieter and larger.
- The Nightlife
For the youngest, Barcelona is a dreamed destination for partying: with the sun, the heat, its beaches, its bars and its cheap alcohol. During the night you will find lots of clubs ready to welcome you until sunrise. The advice I can give you is to avoid bars into touristic areas such as Las Ramblas (prices are really high).
- The Culture
All along the year, you can find in Barcelona artistic and cultural exhibitions. There are many museums where you can discover Spanish Art such as the MACBA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona), the MNAC (National Museum of Catalonia’s Art) or even the Picasso Museum.
- The Catalan Gastronomy
Catalan cuisine is a Mediterranean cuisine. It shares the ingredients of others Mediterranean countries such as vegetables, fruits, seafood and olive oil.
In Catalonia there is a wide range of red, rosé and white wines, many among the best wines of the world. Catalonia produced also a sparkling wine called “Cava”. It has a really old tradition and an excellent quality.
